Collette Dinnigan
Born in South Africa, raised in New Zealand and with business headquarters in Australia and seasonal fashion shows in Paris, fashion designer Collette Dinnigan is truly a woman of the world.
Born in 1965 and schooled at the Wellington Polytechnic, she moved to Australia upon graduation and began her career in the costume department of the ABC in Sydney. Dinnigan was soon making handmade lace underwear for her friends and her reputation for quality work spread.
She established the label Palladium in 1990 and then launched a shop and her selfnamed label in 1992. She was soon enjoying global success. Barneys in New York, Harvey Nichols in London and Joyce in Hong Kong started to retail her clothes.

Dinnigan was named Australian Designer of the Year in 1996, won the 1997 Louis Vuitton Business Award, the 1998 Award for Excellence by the Fashion Group International and was inducted into the Businesswoman's Hall of Fame in May 1998. In Paris, in 2002, she was honoured with the Leading Women Entrepreneurs of the World award.
